It’s no exaggeration to say that as far as global trade and commerce is concerned, for more than two centuries Liverpool was the centre of the world. In 1715 it became the site of the first commercial wet dock ever built, and by the mid 1800’s some 40% of the world’s imports and exports passed through the city.
The term philanthropy – “love of humanity” – dates back to the ancient Greeks, and today generally refers to private initiatives for the public good. Few surviving historical families are as closely associated with large and sustained charitable causes as the renowned Rothschilds.
It is my belief that wealth management is a partnership between the client and the wealth manager. Wealth management is successful when the wealth manager takes the time to understand entirely the circumstances, motivations and aspirations of the client and explains to the client how the structure of assets put in place by the wealth manager can achieve those objectives.
